An FAQ is a list of “Frequently Asked Questions” with answers relating to a particular subject, especially one giving basic information for users of a website.
What are the Brain Launch Programs?
The Brain Launch programs develop what we call the Foundational Processing Systems. These are the primary brain processing systems that attention, learning and everyday performance rely upon. There are 3 programs for children ages 5- 11.
What research studies been done on the Brain Launch programs?
Many studies have been conducted over the last several decades on many different cognitive developmental programs. Most studies have had positive results. From that we know that cognitive skills or information processing skills can be improved with the right approach.
The developmental programs that Dr. Helms has developed in the past have been researched and the results have been outstanding. The Brain Launch programs are new and we will have research data on the new programs soon. The pilot programs were delayed due to the Covid pandemic. We will be conducting double blind studies soon and Dr. Helms expects even better results then achieved on his previous programs.
How do I know if my child would benefit from the programs?
All children can benefit from the programs. Anytime you strengthen a child’s brain processing systems it will improve attention and focus and make learning and thinking more efficient and effective no matter if they are advanced for their age or struggle with learning.
What program should I start my child on?
We recommend starting children ages 5-7 with the Pre-Launch Program then advancing to program 1 then program 2. We recommend starting children 8 -11 with Program 1 then advancing to program 2. You will have access to all 3 programs, so if you start a child on program 1 and it is too difficult you will be able to go back and start the child with Pre-Launch.
Are the exercises done on the computer like many cognitive development programs that are available?
Your instructions are delivered on the screen, but the child does the exercises off screen. We feel that children need to develop these processing systems in the real 3-dimensional world for best results. It is so important to do productive tasks off screen in today’s technology world. Kids are on screens way too much.
Are the programs easy to deliver?
We designed the programs to be so user-friendly that you will not need any special training to deliver them in a very effective manner. We will always be available if you have questions or need some guidance.
How are the Brain Launch programs different than other cognitive development programs that are available?
- Brain Launch Programs were designed to be so user-friendly they do not require any training to deliver.
- They are the only programs that develop information processing systems from the ground up (lower level basic processing systems to higher level, more complex processing systems).
- The exercises develop the Foundational Processing Systems in a face-to-face, one-on-one manner, not on a screen.
- Our programs are fun (most children enjoy the challenge).
- Our programs are very affordable. Programs like ours in a clinical setting could easily cost between $3000 and $5000.
Will the programs improve my child’s attention skills?
Yes. It will improve what we call Real-World Attention skills or the ability to pay attention in a classroom or when you are talking to them. Many children can focus on a screen for hours but have difficulty paying attention in the real world. This is one reason that the exercises are not done on a screen. Also, you are strengthening other processing systems that attention relies upon. If a child cannot process information effectively they will shift attention to other things to avoid the frustration.
What processing skills do the brain launch programs develop?
Read the Foundational Processing Systems section on the home page to get a better understanding of the many processing systems the brain launch programs develop and see common symptoms that children exhibit when they have underdeveloped processing systems.
How do I know what exercises to start with?
The exercises are done in a step-by-step sequential order one section at a time. Once your child passes a section and you select passed, you cannot go back to that section. You must go to the next section. This is done so your child is building a strong processing foundation from the ground up (you would not build a house foundation from the top down).
Can I skip sections?
You can skip a section but cannot go back to the section you skipped. You must do sections in sequential order. This is done so your child is building a strong processing foundation from the ground up (you would not build a house foundation from the top down).
Will the program keep track of where my child is at in the program?
Yes. When you log into your account it will come up at the last exercise that you passed.
Do most children like doing the exercises?
All kids are different, but most children enjoy the challenge and succeeding. Also, it is a change from doing schoolwork. We have designed an optional reward program that we find motivates many kids.
When will I start to notice improvement in my child’s performance?
Each child is different, but most children will start to show some improvement after about 10 sessions. The improvement will gradually improve over time when they start getting use to their new stronger foundational processing system. The first thing many parents see is an increase in their self-confidence and self-esteem. Read our blog, “Expectations of Improvements for My Child” with observations you should start to notice as you progress through the program.
How often should my child do the program exercises?
We recommend 45-60 minutes sessions at least 2 to 3 times per week.
Will the advanced programs be to hard for my 6-year-old?
Most children are ready for the next more advanced program when they complete a program, no matter what the age.
Does my child need to know all the letters and numbers?
They should be able to recognize the letters of the alphabet and know numbers 1-9.
Can my child do the programs if they have a disability?
It depends on what type of disability and how severe it is.
Physical Disability – Your child may not be able to do some of the Sensory Motor exercises.
Visual Disability – May not be able to do exercises that require good visual acuity. If your child has at least 20/50 best correctable vision they should be able to do most of the exercises.
Hearing Disability – May not be able to some of the auditory exercises and some that require listening comprehension.
Mental Disability – If very severe, may not be able to do many exercises. If disability is moderate or mild you should start with the Pre-LAUNCH Program no matter what the age.
You should know if your child can do the exercise before your 14-day free trial ends by looking over the exercises.
Is there anything to download?
Yes. At the beginning of each program you will find, in addition to the program overview, some resources for your use. One of those are the very important ‘Print Materials’. You will find instructions there to click the link and then use a password to download the print materials as a ‘PDF‘ file.
Save the password as you’ll need it to open the PDF file so that you can print them on your printer.
Can the programs be used on a PC & Mac? What about other devices?
The Brain Launch Programs are designed to be used by the instructor. That is, by the child’s parent or other person who uses the system to ‘coach’ the child. Any device that uses an internet web browser can use our programs. However, we suggest that you avoid smaller smartphones as they require a lot of scrolling and their use can steal the coach’s attention from appropriately interfacing with the child.
Do you include step-by-step instructions for set-up?
Yes. However, setting up the program is not required when used with one child. You simply log in and go to the appropriate program. Then use the easy to follow directions in the ‘General Instructions’ found at the beginning of each program.
There are also strategically located videos for such things as the correct way to setup the program for use with more than one child. The program tracks the progress of each child. So, it is important to correctly log in for each.
We also have a “Frequently Asked Questions section where you can add your own questions and/or answers. Of course, if we can be of assistance, you can use the handy chat feature in the bottom right corner of each screen to chat or send us questions when we are not available.

I have purchased a Multiple Child Account and need help to properly set it up for all of my chidren.
Each child will has a unique identifier of your choosing. You can use their name, nickname, a number, or whatever you like. Then, simply log in as the correct child to resume the program where you last left off.
When the program is purchased for more than one child, the additional children are not listed on the Account page. Only one child is listed there and their information is entered at the time of purchase. It can be changed anytime.
To enter the other children’s information, go to the subscriptions page using the ‘Subscriptions’ button in the navigation menu on the right. Once there, click on the text to the right of the appropriate subscription listed under the main menu interface which says “Sub Accounts”. This will take you to the page where you setup accounts for your other children.

What about Updates? How does that work?
Because our Brain Launch Programs run on our server and not your devices, we do all the updates there. They require no input from you and our hope is that the programs are so easy to use that your focus can stay on your child.
Please share your suggestions with us to improve the Brain Launch Programs. There is always room to learn and grow and improve so we appreciate sincerely your valuable insights and input. Can I change my account user name or password?
You can not change your user name. You can change your other information on the website however. Your user name is used to log in. Once you have, go to the account page using the ‘Account’ button. You’ll see your:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Unique Child Identifier
They are as you provided them when you purchased the programs. Any of these can be changed on the website from the ‘Account’ page without impacting your use of the site or your payments.
You can change your password by logging out and then returning to the login page. Then, select the text link that says ‘Forgot Password’.
Can I have more than one child do the programs at one time?
Yes. You can. We provide the ability for ‘Multiple Child Accounts’ so the progress of each child can be tracked.
If you wish to change your subscription to include a different number of children from when you purchased Brain Launch, use the ‘Subscriptions’ button on the Account Menu to open your subscriptions list. To the right side you’ll see some text links. Select ‘Change Plan’ to open a menu window. Then select the appropriate number of children. The Brain Launch App will provide a pro-rated cost and invoice you accordingly. Please contact us for additional information about Multiple Child Accounts or for Group Accounts.
We provide Group Account services to clubs and organizations who wish to bring the Brain Launch Programs to their members’ families. We offer discounted rates on our Brain Launch platform for small organizations. For large organizations, or those who wish it, we’ll quote to provide a dedicated platform for you.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. If for any reason you decide to cancel your subscription, select the ‘Subscriptions’ button from within the app. You’ll find the cancel option in the last column in the list of your memberships.
It is not required. But, we hope that you will briefly let us know the reason you are cancelling. To let us know, use the icon in the bottom right corner of every page to open a form or chat with us. We would sincerely appreciate it if you would also tell us what we can do differently to improve our services. We will use the information to gauge customer satisfaction, address customer concerns to eliminate their causes going forward, and to improve our services for our valued customers.

How can I get an Invoice for my purchase?
Please note that you are emailed a confirmation copy of your purchase when it is completed. Your invoice history of purchases also shows up on the ‘Payments’ page using the navigation buttons to the right.

I am trying to purchase Brain Launch but the payment failed!
Please be sure to confirm that you’ve entered the correct information. PayPal processes all of the transactions for us while you use any credit card or a PayPal account to make the payments. Neither will process transactions if your information is incorrect.
